As I stated in another post we had our bathrooms done but we didn't have the contractor do everything. We did do some of the work ourselves, putting in the floors was one of them. After the contractor layed the boards down we painted them with primer (his suggestion) because we were laying the peel and stick tiles down. This would allow a better hold for the tiles. My husband actually did the work but I was an excellent supervisor. He put the floors in before the toilets or the vanities. The only thing that was in was the tub in the downstairs bathroom and the shower in the upstairs bathroom. He said that it wasn't that bad. Figuring out the angles was the toughest. He had never layed a floor before and they turned out great. We caulked really well around the tub, toilet etc. to make sure that the tiles don't curl up. At first we were going to have someone come in and put the floors in for us but we are so glad we did them ourselves. We saved a ton of money too. It was definitely worth the time and effort.

That's a huge undertaking putting in your own floors!! Kudos to you for being able to od it yourselves and saving a lot of money too!!

What a sense of accomplishment you both must have. I completely agree about the kudos. I would be too nervous to put in my own floors.
