• DIY - Do It Yourself Marketplacefurniture-workshop - DIY - Do It Yourself Our Own Christmas Tree!Well Christmas is almost over! We were a bit too broke to buy a real tree and did not want to get a fake tree [which is almost just as expensive anyways]. So we took out some wire that we had laying around and shaped it into a cone, and then decorated it with our christmas items that we have collected through-out all the years. It turned out pretty nice if I may say so! Here's a picture :) Comment #1 Star from NY - Your tree is really cute. I don't think I would have ever thought of this idea. Who says you have to have the traditional christmas tree either fake or real? I think it was a clever idea. Sometimes when money is tight you have to do the best with what you have. This would be cute to put up even if you had a regular tree. Comment #2 Eva from Wisteria Lane - What a really nice tree...you certainly win the award for originality!! You should start selling them - I think they'll be a hit. :) Comment #3 Silly Sally from the middle of nowhere - That is so clever and very well done. I love how it turned out. I never would have thought of it. DH and I went the artificial tree route last year. Yes, it can be as expensive as a live tree, but it's an expense you only make once. Then we bought a few others at the after-Christmas sales for bargain prices.
