Going from our first floor into the basement we just had those black non skid step things that are glued to the steps. My husband got sick of them and went to a flooring store and had a very long runner carpet bound. He then put the carpeting down himself. It was actually pretty funny. He thinks that is now ready to get a job at a flooring store to help install flooring. Personally I think he should stick the job he already has but I will let him think he is the best at flooring. Seriously it turned out really well. He clued and stapled the carpeting down. It makes doing laundry very enjoyable. Comment #1 Eva from Wisteria Lane - That's a great idea!! I can remember in my parents' old home they had a basement where the steps were made of concrete and it was pretty scary going down those stairs every once in a while. They finally had it refinished and put some nice carpeting on the steps. Sure made all the difference!!
