Overhead lighting

Silly Sally from the middle of nowhere -

Do you hate overhead lighting as much as I do? There are some rooms and some times when I'm OK with it. But most of the time it's harsh and glaring.

I love to use lamps, but I don't like the acrobatics or having to get to the switches. Help!

I am totally the same. Those lights burning into my eyes are horrible. I have switches in my house that control outlets. Boy do I love those. I can turn the lamp on and off just like the overhead light. But if you don't have that, you can buy an extension cord that's controlled by a foot pedal.
